losing my job

losing my job

Guest written by our friend Mason Abbott

Man, getting fired was the best thing that ever happened to me. There were massive layoffs at my company which was happening everywhere and I was one of the last to go – they said they loved me but just couldn’t afford to keep me on. I was really devastated at first because I had no idea where to go but once I got my head about me I started looking for another job. I knew it would probably be a long process so I hunkered down and came up with some ways to save money in the meantime so I wouldn’t go broke. I called my credit card company and renegotiated my interest rate and went to texaselectricityPROVIDERS.com and found out I was paying too much for energy. I had a big garage sale and got rid of a bunch of junk I didn’t need and made a few hundred dollars that way. I found a new job after about three months though it doesn’t pay as well as my old one, but it’s a job!

Too Much Government Control

Well the Republicans tried to save us from the evil new light bulb but they were unable to roll back the law that will make light bulbs, as we know them, unavailable after the first of the year.

If you dislike the new bulbs as much as I do perhaps you should start now to stock up on our old familiar bulbs while you still can.

I read an article this morning which says that GE will be introducing a new LED bulb which will be quite improved but it will cost...are you ready for this...upwards of $50.00 each. Now think about this...who will be able to afford to buy these bulbs, even if they do last a long time. Imagine moving into a new house, or apartment, and needing to purchase bulbs at this price for every socket in the house. You know the folks moving out will not be leaving their bulbs.

Where do I sign up for the revolution? Have you thought about all the freedoms this administration has or is in the process of eliminating. If this man were to be re-elected we would not recognize our country at the end of his second term. I am having a problem recognizing our country now and he still has months to go.

Perhaps everyone who cares should just move to Texas. They seem to be making good decisions while many other states are making decisions which in the end will be destructive to all of us.

Speaking of Texas. I just learned something I didn't know. In Texas, and perhaps in other states as well, as a consumer you have a choice as to who you purchase your electricity from.

This information is to be found on a website called http://www.texaselectricityproviders.com/. It appears that there are several choices available from which to choose and even though is seems that it is the same power flowing through your wires each offering company decides on it's own pricing.

Perhaps every state should offer what they are offering at http://www.texaselectricityproviders.com/.

The website is interesting. I'm not sure who provides it but you have the option of filling out a form and receiving competitive pricing from several different providers. Perhaps those of us in all the states where a monopoly exists, and we are stuck with whatever our power company cares to charge us, should start a movement to do away with monopolies. There are laws that keep most companies from forming a monopoly but the government is still protecting select types of companies ie electricity. I think the choices which are shown on http://www.texaselectricityproviders.com/ is a great way to do business and one we should all be able to take advantage of.
