Unlike Pope Francis, I believe that air-conditioning and the capitalists responsible for the technology are blessings to the world.
Perhaps the head of the Catholic Church, who condemned “the increasing use and power of air-conditioning” last week in a market-bashing encyclical, is unaware of the pioneering private company that has donated its time, energy and innovative heating, ventilating and air-conditioning equipment to the Vatican’s most famous edifice for more than a decade.
That’s right. While the pontiff sanctimoniously attacks “those who are obsessed with maximizing profits,” Carrier Corporation — a $13 billion for-profit company with 43,000 employees worldwide (now a unit of U.S.-based United Technologies Corp.) — ensures that the air in the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel stays clean and cool.
Last fall, Carrier unveiled a groundbreaking HVAC system for the Vatican to help preserve Michelangelo’s masterpieces against pollution caused by the estimated six million visitors who descend on the Sistine Chapel every year to see its famous frescoes.
As the company described it, their new solution “uses two Carrier AquaForce(r) 30XWV water-cooled chillers with Greenspeed(r) intelligence, each with 580 kilowatts of capacity. It leverages specially designed software and components, as well as patented, energy-saving technologies to maintain optimal climate conditions for the protection of the paintings within the chapel.” State-of-the-art intelligent controls “anticipate visitor levels and adjust its performance intuitively.” It also “delivers twice the efficiency and three times the capacity of the former system, which was built and installed by Carrier in the early 1990s.”
Here’s the lesson about air-conditioning capitalists that Pope Francis fails to appreciate: Carrier’s technological know-how and breakthroughs didn’t just descend from the clouds. As I recount in my latest book, “Who Built That,” every perfectly chilled home, office, movie theater, mall, factory, hospital, lab and museum owes its existence to the profit-seeking pioneers of manufactured weather: Willis Carrier and Irvine Lyle.
These early 20th-century inventive giants brought air-conditioning to the market and to the masses. Willis Carrier was the scientist-tinkerpreneur whose prolific stream of experiments and epiphanies, beginning in 1902, fueled historic technological advances in heating, refrigeration and air-conditioning. Irvine Lyle was the mechanical engineer-turned-salesman who imagined countless new commercial applications for Carrier’s work — and successfully turned those ideas into a multibillion-dollar business through relentless promotion, pitches, networking, advertising and outreach.
The scientists and their core team begged, borrowed and made stock sales to friends and neighbors. Carrier even enlisted his dentist for cash to get Carrier Engineering Corporation up and running in 1915. Carrier, Lyle and five founding engineers together pitched in $32,600 in start-up funds.
The Carrier capitalists risked it all in defiance of an economic depression and amid the tumult of world war. They couldn’t afford their own factory and scrounged for made-to-order parts wherever they could find them. They dug into their own pockets to cover salary shortfalls. The wealth wasn’t handed to them. Carrier and Lyle, farm boys who both graduated from Cornell, drove their men hard and themselves harder.
The Carrier team sold its products to businesses, large and small, that spanned the spectrum of human needs and wants. The pope should know that in addition to sparing countless lives from death by heat wave, Carrier designed a special system for Jonas Salk that helped maintain constant temperatures in the vats where Salk’s poliovirus strains grew. The Salk vaccine saved thousands of lives and spearheaded the vaccine revolution.
From Hollywood to the pharmaceutical industry to textiles to the retail industry to the military to homeowners, there isn’t a sector of the American economy that Carrier and Lyle didn’t help transform. Their zealous focus on helping businesses provide better products at cheaper costs resulted in the invaluable byproducts of increased health, comfort and happiness.
While the pope blames commercial enterprises and the “global market economy” for causing “environmental degradation,” it is a worldwide commercial enterprise made in America that solved the human-caused degradation of, and environmental damage to, the Vatican’s most prized art and assets.
If the pontiff truly believes “excessive consumption” of modern conveniences is causing evil “climate change,” will he be shutting down and returning the multimillion-dollar system Carrier generously gifted to the Vatican Museums?
If not, I suggest, with all due respect, that Pope Francis do humanity a favor and refrain from blowing any more hot air unless he’s willing to stew in his own.

Be Careful What You Wish (VOTE) For

As we move closer to our next, and probably the most important election you will ever vote in, the majority of people haven't a clue as to the candidates. Most will consider themselves Patriotic as they walk into the polling place and give their vote to someone they know nothing about except for a few soundbites for or against.
To my amazement Hillary remains popular even though those who say, with a stupid look of adoration on their faces, I like Hillary but when asked why there is no answer. That is because there is nothing that anyone can mention that shows accomplishment on her part.
Anyone my age who has paid attention should remember all the questionable acts which occurred during the Clinton's time in Arkansas and Washington DC. If you can't list them then do yourself a favor and do your homework. Most people will remember, if nothing else, Bill's "I did not have sex with that woman" lie . He was impeached but not removed from office and Hillary was right behind him covering his ass all the way and running a smear campaign against any woman (and there were quite a few) who dared accuse him.
Now she wants to be president. She doesn't want to talk to to the media and answer any questions, she sure does not want to talk about the millions of dollars she and Bill have raked in for speaking fees and contributions (Clinton Foundation) while she was Secretary of State and while the very people paying the speaking fees and making the contributions were receiving favors from our country through determinations made by Hillary as Secretary of State. Did you know she OK'd the sale of  our National resources  to Russia? The following is from Breitbart.com

There is another, perhaps the biggest problem with Hillary Clinton becoming President. Her name is
Huma Abedin. Huma has been with Hillary for a long time and is reported to be her closest confidant. It was once said that "Hillary wouldn't go out the door without Huma"
So what do you know of Huma, other than the fact that she is married to Weiner...the congressman who sent out pictures of his body to young women.

"The Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs – an Abedin family project in which Huma Abedin was deeply involved – espouses the Islamic supremacist ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood. As Andrew McCarthy noted, Huma Abedin herself “spent 12 years working at a journal intended to aid Islamic domination of the West.”"
Huma has very strong ties with much of the Muslim Brotherhood and Islamic groups. If you need to refresh your memory check out the position both Obama and Clinton had regarding Egypt and
 enthusiastically supported the ouster of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and favored the the Muslim Brotherhood’s choice for president, Mohammed Morsi, prevail in the presidential run-off election over his more secular army-backed rival. Morsi is now in prison for crimes against the Egyption  people.
Huma was by Hillary's side when Hillary Hillary Clinton led the charge within the Obama administration for regime change in Libya. She urged action to overthrow the Gadhafi regime in Libya after the start of an “Arab Spring” uprising in that country.This move was controversial because Gadhafi was no threat to us at the time. He had given up his nuclear weapons years earlier.
Thanks to Obama and Clinton we now have the Fox guarding the hen-house in Washington. 
I encourage everyone reading this to please take the time to research this and all that is happening in our country. If citizens don't wake up soon we will soon be a third world country.

Another Child Suicide (or) Has Government Dependency brought us to this.

Once more we hear the sad news that another child has taken his own life because he was the subject of cruel treatment at the hands of his peers. This little boy was fourteen years old and lived in Florida.
Can you imagine yourself at that age, unable to make your own decisions, being dependant upon someone else to keep you safe and out of harms way? Can you imagine the people you love the most sending you to school every day knowing full well what you will be subjected to and you are unable to stop it?
If I try to put myself there I find it horrifying.
This isn't about parents who didn't care about their child. According to what I have heard they had moved from New York to Florida to try to make things better for their child. However, they failed to take the one step that could have offered him protection. They failed him by failing to remove him from the situation. They failed him by expecting someone else to care for his safety.  They failed him by failing to understand what government cannot do for him. Government cannot keep him safe.
Government can pass laws but unless they can enforce tthose laws they matter not.
Do you wonder why these parents, and other parents whose children have died because of bullying failed to take the one step that could have removed the threat from their child's life.
One needs not go far back (in years) in our country to find a time when the majority of people were self sufficient. Dealings with the Feds were few and far between and probably most people lived their lives without thinking about the Federal Government except in times of War. They certainly didn't expect interference in their daily lives nor did they expect their fool or housing or education or day to day safety to come from the Federal government.
Schools were local and decision making, regarding the rules and happenings in a school, was a community affair.  Any problem arising from a child's behavior was handled promply with the involvement of the parents of the children involved and the teacher.
So what is the change which has allowed so many children to be so bullied, yet forced to go back day after day into this untendable situation, a situation in which they cannot cope, until they are driven to take their own lives?
The biggest change is that government, through it's welfare state mentality, it's Nany state approach, it's "we know best what is good for you" decision making has convinced too many people that the government is always right, that the government will take care of everything, that you need not be responsible and it's not your fault, someone else is responsible for you problems whatever they may be, just go to the closest government entity and all your problems will be solved.
Too many people no longer feel responsible for or about anything and in the cases of bullying in schools they have put their reliance in the government (ie) school to handle everything.
Problem is...the government can't...
We, as citizens of the greatest country in the world, must once more become responsible. Responsible for ourselves, responsible for our children, for our livlihood, for and to our communities.
To think about a young child tryng to deal with something, far out of his//her control, and being forced, by those very people who should love him best into the situation again and again, day after day. is just too sad for words.

Obama's Welfare State of Mind

A Representative, in this case the president, has an obligation to whomever he represents. Obama was elected president with the responsibility to represent We The People.

As our representative he should have our welfare as a primary objective but does he?

"Obama's Welfare State of Mind" does not refer to the welfare state he has created in our country rather it refers to his spending, on himself and his family . The welfare state of mind, I think, is when a person spends unnecessarily using money they did not earn. In Obama's case the money is taxpayer's money and he wastes it at a time when many people  are struggling to get by. While people are losing their homes, have lost their jobs and can barely put food on the table.

I know many of you were raised as I was, to believe that you earned what you wanted or needed or you did without. Welfare was something that was not even considered. I still believe that.

To get the records of Obama's travel spending Judicial Watch had to file a lawsuit which they did in 2013. This is the "most transparent administration in history...says he.

While our economy just crawls along, high  unemployment, (if the true figures were reported it would be in the 12% range).our country suffering as it has not suffered in many years and with no serious chance of improvement in sight his spending goes on unabated.  With the middle east in flames and with the terrorist threat increasing, with scandals so numerous it becomes difficult to even list them all, and with our border totally unsecured the Obama's, like Welfare Queens live high on the hog at taxpayer expense.

In 2013 just their air travel costs, paid for by the US taxpayer,  was $7.4 million for only 3 trips. Their Christmas vacation took them  to Hawaii. Obama decided he needed to fly back to Washington for a budget deal, then back to Hawaii and then the family flew home. In August Obama flew to California where he met with  DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg for a fundraiser then appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. later in August the family flew to Martha's Vineyard for their summer vacation.

Even though Obama promised transparency a lawsuit was necessary to obtain the information. 

In addition,  the Secret Service entourage accompanying President Obama and his family during their trip to sub-Saharan Africa from June 27 to July 3, 2013, incurred $2,189,727.60 in lodging, entertainment, and security expenses alone. The cost for the Obama family for their air travel for this trip was $8,104,224. 

This trip was during the time when the government was shut down due to the sequester, remember when they closed the White House for tours. Little school children whose families had planned their summer vacations around this tour were turned away. They also closed the Veterans Memorial and shut out elderly Veterans some of whom had been flown to Washington on special flights for this special event to see the memorials.

It would seem that Obama's  special summer events were much more important than the US citizens planned events. In fact he spent their money on himself and his family and put his lavish lifestyle in first place in front of all else. His welfare, and living on money earned by someone else is certainly welfare, is uppermost in his mind.

And then there is the cost of Obama's golf outings. As of March of this year (2014) he had played a total of 163 rounds of golf. He played 27 times in 2009, 31 times in 2010, 34 times in 2011 but only 19 times in 2012 (an election year) In 2013 he upped his games to 46.  

Some costs for this year's golf outings are:  February 2014 Palm Springs, California and March 2014 Key Largo, Florida golf outings cost the taxpayers $2,952,278 for flight expenses alone.

In a March spring break trip to Key Largo Fl. the family stayed at a resort, The Ocean Reef Club. where member must have a minimum $35 million net worth to join.  This was just after  Obama’s State of the Union Address in which he focused on income inequality.

According to FOIA requests the Obama's and the Biden's have spent $40 million on travel since 2009. 

Michele rang up the single largest expense for accomodations in Dublin Ireland during the 2013 G-8 conference. The first lady and her entourage booked 30 rooms at the Shelbourne Hotel. Her ladyship's suite, a 1500 square foot extravaganza, cost us $3500 a night. Our bill (as taxpayers) for this trip was  $7,921,638.66.

Obama's job as president includes many perks that the ordinary citizen can only dream of. To list them all would be impossible but if the people we elect cannot control themselves and remember that they are working for the American citizens then spending regulations need to be put in place. If they don't realize  that they have an obligation to be ever mindful of the fact that every penny spent on themselves takes a penny away from things that could benefit the country then we, as taxpayers, are lax if we don't demand limits. 
Presidents have always had a free rein on travel expense and I have not done the research to determine how out of line this president may or may not be, that is not the point. The point is the law should impose caps on White House expense, not just travel but entertaining as well (beyond what is required for foreign dignitaries and things that benefit the country) 

As Americans to be good citizens we have an obligation to be aware of what is happening in our government from local to Federal. When we don't we allow ourselves to be taken advantage of and our way of life to be threatened.

if you even go back further...in 732 AD the muslim Army which was moving on Paris was defeated and turned back at Tours, France, by Charles Martell.

In 1571 AD the muslim Army/ Navy was defeated by the Italians and Austrians as they tried to cross the Mediterranean to attack southern Europe in the Battle of Lapanto.

In 1683 AD the Turkish muslim Army, attacking Eastern Europe, was finally defeated in the Battle of Vienna by German and Polish Christian Armies.

This crap has been going on for 1,400 years and half of these #$% politicians don't even know it!  If these battles had not been won we might be speaking Arabic and Christianity could be non - existent;

Judaism certainly would be. And let us not forget that Hitler was an admirer of islam and that the mufti of Jerusalem was Hitler's guest in Berlin and raised Bosnian muslim SS Divisions: the 13th and 21st Waffen SS Divisions who killed Jews, Russians, Gypsies, and any other "subhumans".

No, I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you?

So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people. So, ask yourself "Just how stupid are we?"

Absolutely No Profiling!

They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old, Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winner and former Governor Joe Foss, but leave muslim males alone lest they be guilty of profiling. Ask yourself again "Just how stupid are we?"

Have the American people completely lost their minds, or just their power of reason?

Let's send this to as many people as we can so that the Gloria Aldreds and other stupid attorneys along with Federal Justices who want to thwart common sense, feel ashamed of themselves -- if they have any such sense.

I'm Not Ready For One World Order...ARE YOU ?

Are you following the recent events in Nevada regarding the Bundy family and their fight with the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) over grazing rights? Now in the past few days we are hearing about the BLM laying claim to close to 100,000 acres along the Red River which is the boundary between Texas and Arizona. This land, the Feds claim, belongs to them even though the ranchers have title to the property and have been using the land and paying taxes on it for generations.

Then there is this:  (from offgridsurvival.com)

"Two years ago, Andy and Ceil Barrie bought two pieces of land: a house in an established subdivision, and a piece of backcountry land at a higher elevation, accessible by an old mining road.

The backcountry land, which is surrounded by over 2 million acres of White River National Forest, had to be accessed with a utility vehicle because of its remote location. The couple used an old mining road dating back to the 1880s to access their land, and that’s where their problems began.

Even though the couple was using an established mining road, the U.S. Forest Service denied the couple access to their land and then the county demanded the couple sell the land. When they refused, the local county commissioners condemned an old mining cabin that was on the land previous to the Barrie’s purchase of the land, claiming it was being condemned for wiring and plumbing issues – even though the cabin had neither plumbing nor electrical wiring."

...And it goes on to how the couple were forced to give up their land. They received compensation but only enough to pay their legal fees. 

These stories should make everyone ask why our government wants all this land. Land, which if you believe the constitution, they have no right to own in the first place.  The cost, paid for by taxpayer money, is huge and growing daily. The BLM, a division of the Interior and under controlled of the executive branch of government, should not be a police agency, but it is. So why do they look like storm troopers...So why the big land grabs?

This, I would suggest, is what the land grad is all about. It has been supported by both Republican  and Democrat presidents since the 70's.
This is about government (the elites who become part of government) thinking that they know how we should live, what we should do, how we should do it. This is not new it is just now getting to the point of making itself visible

We should ask ourselves if all our media, including Fox News, are ignorant of .these things or do they too think they are above us. That they somehow were given superior minds and we were not.

There is ugliness here that you probably have no idea of. It includes controlling population by drugs given without our knowledge. It includes forcing everyone into large urban areas and making most of our country inaccessible to everyone. And much much more.
There is so much going on without our knowledge.

Twenty important symbols of national pride, along with 51 million acres of our wilderness, are World Heritage Sites or Biosphere Reserves now falling under the control of the U.N. This includes the Statue of Liberty, Thomas Jefferson's home at Monticello, the Washington Monument, the Brooklyn Bridge, Yellowstone National Park, Yosemite, the Florida Everglades and the Grand Canyon - to name just a few.

If this bothers you I hope you will share it. We are a nation which has been dumbed down by our school system for many years and it continues. With the Common core having been implemented in many states the dumb down   project is now running like a snowball downhill and gaining momentum all the time.

I believe there are good men running for office in the coming election that can begin to turn things around but no one is going to get these people elected if we don't. It is our job to protect our country. No one else is going to do it for us.
